Crested Pheasant Caverns

The climate here is mild, with storms beginning at the end of summer and lasting throughout the fall. Each year the storms bring relief from drought. The northern peninsula is famous for its beautiful cavern networks. There are also abundant and diverse creatures of burden.

There are three cultures here—Red, Blue, and Silver.

Red are a sensible people. Although the core of the kingdom has collapsed, their disciplined constabulary have maintained ties between cities spread across the now-treacherous hinterlands and northern coast. Despite their recent woes, if anything Red culture has flourished—free of the stale traditions of the old elite, their cold-eyed science provides exceptional insights.

Blue are both tremendously adept in commerce and woefully mired in aristocratic intrigues. Indeed, there are rumors that it was the machinations of the ruling merchant families that led to the collapse of the Red court. And while there is a hearty culture of husbandry across the Crested Pheasant Peninsula, the caverns at its heart offer many opportunities for illicit transit between the kingdoms.

Silver are a benighted people, looked down upon by their northern neighbors for their barbarism. In truth, though they were once peaceful inhabitants of the southern archipelago with a culture spread widely from island to island, they have come on hard times. From this need they’ve traded coracle for karve to prey on wealthy northern trade routes. Their values remain strong, however, and it is common to be received in even the most meager Silver home with great warmth and welcome.
